With the maturing of automation and computerization of packaging industries, more and more packaging software appeared in the market. But most of them are carton CAD software, almost none is about the design of turnover box. As a member of many packaging products, turnover box has a series of advantage, such as light, high strength, resistance to moisture and corrosion. Turnover box is widely applied to food, soda, mechanical and chemical industry and it takes an important place in the domain of packaging. So developing a turnover box CAD software is accord with market need.Nowadays, users and manufactures are not satisfied with the original CAD software system anymore. What they expected is the packaging software with stronger function. It involved in basic modeling, structure analysis, parameter design, 3D display etc. AutoCAD and Pro/E have their own characters and they are popular with most designers at present. Both of them have good profession adaptability, but they are not peculiar to a specific industry. For packaging industry, although we could use AutoCAD and Pro/E in structure designing, they can't avoid some professional and convenient shortage. So we create a well-shifted turnover box CAD special software by graph data structure and OpenGL 3D API. The software combines parameterization design with flexibility design. It supplies a standardization turnover box library and designer just need to input the parameter of box. Also, designer could use the subassembly of box to design the special box they need in order to satisfy the request of some products. Besides meet the demand of structure, the software could realizes true to nature 3D display. It also could exports the DXF file from original blue print and open the design with AutoCAD in order to make the software has good usability.
