The low-resolution guard-radar and tracking-radar are made use of detection and measure on the modern battle field usually. Detecting targets and measuring the parameters (location parameters and movement parameters) of targets are the basic roles of radars by far. However, as the speedy development of science and technology, and the especial requirements of anti-missile weapon systems, the target-condition of radar has been becoming complicated increasingly. At the same time, it raises same new tasks to radars, which are target-characteristic-measuring and target-classifying. Therefore, Radar Target Recognition (types, properties, amount, true and false of targets) has become a most important scientific problem which is been researching by most important military countries on the world.For the practical demand of modern war, this paper discusses the methods of Radar Target Recognition. First of all, it gives the scattering point model of radar target echo, and analyses the feature of high-resolution range profile. Then it researches some kinds of recognition methods, such as based-on the range profile recognition method, based-on the scattering center recognition method, and movement characteristic recognition method which is based on Time-Doppler curve. At last of this dissertation, it is given a little part of simulated result and measurement.This paper researches and summarizes methods of Radar Target Recognition, which is laid a foundation to develop the Target Recognition System.
