The present thesis is devoted to the study of robust synchronization of the chaotic forced Lienard equations. By using the feedback control technique on the nonlinear systems and the stability theory on the nonautonomous dynamical systems, some simple yet generic criteria for robust synchronization of the second-order chaotic Lienard equations with external disturbance are derived. In addition, some new sufficient conditions for adaptive robust synchronization of such systems are established. Moreover, the obtained results are applied to control the chaotic Duffing Oscillators as well as the Van Der Pol systems. Finally, the numerical simulations are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed control techniques.
