With the research advance of high-capacity and long-haul (HC-LH) dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) system, various influencing factors restricting the transmission performances of Optical-fiber communication system (OFCS) are becoming more obvious. Therefore, it shows to be extremely important to adopt various advanced techniques to improve its transmission performance. Advanced optical modulation format (OMF) is one of the key techniques. In this paper, the author sets up a DSPK optical transmitter model at first, and proves the feasibility of generating advanced OMFs with cascaded MZ modulators with numerical simulation method, and then analyzes the transmission properties of various OMFs in detail; Secondly, a DSPK optical-fiber transmission model is built, with the main focus on the effects of Gordon-Mollenauer (G-M) nonlinear effects generated by the interactions between amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) and self-phase modulation(SPM). Finally, a model of DSPK optical receivers with balanced detection is built, and the transmission performance of DPSK-OFCS is given. The research results can provide a basic tool for the design of HC-LH DPSK-OFCS.
