Research On The Multimedia Middleware Framework In Pervasive Computing Environment Based On CCM And Its Design

With the development of wireless network and intelligence devices, we are facing a brand new time named as Pervasive Computing. As important applications of modern personal computer, multimedia applications have been the hot point of study of pervasive computing. The major goal of this paper is to study on how to provide good supports to the development of multimedia applications in pervasive environment. As analyzing in our study, there is no best solution to this problem.In this paper, some popular middleware technology and main stream component technology as CCM, DCOM and EJB are analyzed. With the work above all, we get the conclusion that in the pervasive computing environment the middleware based on component technology will be the main stream. And we speculate that multimedia development in such environment will follow this direction.Base on the related research in the technology of middleware and CCM, a Multimedia Middleware Framework in Pervasive Computing Environment Based on CCM (PerMM) is proposed. PerMM provide a framework standard and system level support to the development of multimedia applications in pervasive environment. It can help the development with high quality and great efficiency. In order to make the CCM more suitable for multimedia application in pervasive environment, a stream transport model for CCM and an asynchronous message disposal model based on CORBA are designed. These two models can support the multimedia date transport and system message disposal in pervasive environment. At last the software simulation results are presented in order to validate that two models can work well and have good efficiency. We implement a prototype system of digial home multimedia entertainment based on PerMM which validate the availability of PerMM.
