Along with the advancement unceasing of the Medical Diagnotic Laboratory, Lab Information expanded in increasing numbers, the traditionary Lab Information System (LIS) of Client/Server frame can't fulfill the increasing requirement for information service. At the same time, the Browser/Server frame based on web technology represents strong life force. It divides the server to one database server and on or more application server (or web server).These constitute a three-tier or multi-tier Browser/Server system, which improves the measure of information share and service greatly.In the paper, it describes the development phase of distributed system, from traditional Client/Server model to current N-tier model, and analyses their disadvantage. Emphasizes the advantage of web application and discuss Microsoft .NET Framework and Ajax Technology and the design pattern of MVC thoroughly. Leading with analyzing the functional requirements, this paper discusses the application of web technology to LIS, and then gives a whole LIS framework design, in which base on Microsoft .NET Framework of 3-tier or N-tier architecture, explains the framework's architecture in detail and relation among layers, simply describes the course of system implement. Finally, analyses the advantage and disadvantage of the system as the summary of the full paper.
