Due to the increase of J2EE enterprise applications scale, it is hard for a single developer to complete the development of the whole system. What's more, only deploying the system on a single server cannot satify the requests of a huge number of visitors. How to develop large scale modularized J2EE systems, and how to deploy them on a cluster, have become a problem which requires all developers' attention. Furthermore, how to integrate systems which have accumulated in a company over a long period into an organic entity is a problem which deserves further study.First, this paper analyzes the architecture which supports the modularized system deployment and distributed deployment of large scale J2EE systems, expounding upon cross-platform technical points including server-side cross-operating systems, cross-database operations, cross-application servers, supporting multiple CPU platform and client-side cross-browsers, cross-operating systems, and supporting multiple CPU platforms. Secondly, this paper introduces the main technology used in modularized system development and distributed deployment, such as Web load balancing, Web high availability solutions, distributed databases, distributed file systems, and distributed full-text search. It gives advice for optimizing databases, HTTP and buffer areas. Then, the paper studies integration technology of J2EE large-scale systems, laying out the central concepts necessary for integration. Additionally, by taking two applications—a multimedia network teaching system and a new OA system still in the design process—as examples, it introduces methods for design and development of actual applications. Finally, this article also analyze the innovation and inadequacy of the proposed programme.From the development, deployment, optimization and integration points of view, this paper proposes a complete package of J2EE system implementation program, this program could be able to resolve a number of key problems in the J2EE system development. Some of the research findings of this paper have already been put into practice. The design methods and technical pathways for large-scale systems can serve as a reference for developers of large scale J2EE systems.
