Research on the technique of link level to system level interface is the pre-research project during the internship in RITT.Wireless communication system simulation is very important in the areas of modern wireless technology research. Within standardization bodier it is commonly agreed that a system level simulator should be used in evaluating the network performance. However, the heavy computation cost of system simulation with high resolution and long duration would lead to very long simulation times. Therefore, a separate link and system level simulators are needed for network performance evaluation. The mapping method to interconnect the two simulators is essential and has to be defined carefully. Now L2S interface mapping technique is very important and affect the efficiency of system simulation. Previously, Average Value Interface and Actual Value Interface have usually been used. Due to both inaccuracy and complexity, probably they are not effective in OFDM/multi-carrier network evaluation.This paper presents the approaches of link to system mapping for OFDM/multi-carrier mobile communication system by analysing some materials. Mainly, the effective SINR method is highlighted, which includes EESM and MI-ESM. the basic principles and processes of the two methods are covered in the paper as well as the implement procedures in system-level simulation. Through the test simulation results to prove the effectiveness of them. It shows how the multi-state channels are integrated into a single state in system simulator with effective SINR approach and why the effective SINR can represent the performance of multiple sub-carrier SINR. In order to make it applicable in OFDM system with link adaptation technologies and power control, basic EESM methods is extended to cover these techniques. Find the inadequacy of the two methods and to be improved and optimized respectively. Finally comparing them and analysing their advantages and disadvantages.
