Defected ground structure (DGS) is a kind of high technology in microwave and millimeter wave domain. DGS is the structure that etches patterms in the ground of transmission line. In this way, DGS could change the distributing of shield electric current in order to change the equivalent inductance and capacitance and have slow-wave characteristic and frequency band prohibition characteristic.The paper introduces the Defected ground structure and its applications, narrates the origin and theory, analyses the frequency characteristic and equivalent circuit of DGS in different types, designs the passive filter and optimizes the power divider with DGS. The real microwave circuit is tested with the network analyser. The test results are compared with the emulational results, which is proved right.The thesis is provided by the 11th Five-Year innovation fund project of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation and the Doctor fund project of Institute of Microelectronics of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The production of the thesis is aimed to miniaturization the microwave circuit and enhances the performance of systems.
