In recent years, as sensor system becomes more intelligent and powerful, the fiber optic sensor, which is the new one in sensor family, is being more popular, due to its characteristics of high information capacity, anti-electromagnetic interference, sensitivity and reliability. What's more, the fiber optic sensors based on interferometer have the highest sensitivity.In this paper, a fiber optical sensor system based on a new optical fiber interferometer loop is introduced. This system can achieve long-distance and totally distributed localization by Spectra techniques. Its potential military and civilian applications include the intrusion protection of airport, communication cables, national boundaries and so on.This sensor system consists of two parts: the sensor's fiber link and the terminal unit for detection. The former is based on a new fiber optic interferometer ring structure. The latter consists of optical board system, polarization control system, data process system and graphical user interfaces (GUI). Optical board will be discussed in this paper.The ways to improve system performances are discussed based on the analysis of the noises in fiber optic sensor system. Then the design and implementation of optical board are demonstrated, including optical transmitter, optical receiver and digital control unit. Lastly, the design and debug technique are introduced. The experimentalresults show that the designed optical board meets the system requirements.
