Cartoon industry is regarded as a sunrise industry of 21st century, and the rendering is an important step of cartoon production. However, traditional cartoon rendering has some shortages, such as long-time rendering, inability to assign frame automatically, a large number of rendering data and incapability of transmission and real-time process, so some new technology is needed urgently. Network technology has become a more and more popular in recent years in the computer field, the reasons of which are that it not only can solve shortcomings of traditional rendering system, but also can realize the task scheduling and real-time assignment of cartoon frames and the transmission and process of cartoon data frames. Therefore, this thesis has studied the above problems combined with grid technology.At first, the cause, purpose and content of this thesis were introduced. Next, some theory which related to grid technology and current study state and development trend of recent grid technology were presented. Cartoon rendering was described in detail; the research compared some other common cartoon rendering system which has been made in other countries. Meanwhile, the thought of applying grid technology to rendering platform has been proposed.Load balancing algorithm base on feedback was proposed to solve the problem that Cartoon cluster rendering system can't implement dynamical load balancing, when it treats with multistage task. The ideal of feedback was introduced and the principle of load balancing was referred in this new algorithm which uses the strategy of centralized load balancing to schedule and allot task-thread and provides response time guarantees for differentiated services and implements load balance through adjusting the load of all nodes of Cartoon cluster render system real-timely and dynamically, finally, this new algorithm improves the whole performance of the system remarkably. Cartoon Rendering system which combined with Globus thinking was proposed from the perspective of software engineering in this research.Design objectives were discussed and also a general framework for the design and modular design of this system were proposed based on the structure of the Globus.Then data transmission and processing have been studied in environment of Grid, the model of Cartoon data frame transmission and Cartoon frame processing technology were discussed.Design and implementation of the animation frame rendering data transmission and processing and Globus Toolkit as a tool kit of data interface module by using GridFTP and combining LRU algorithm. Finally, the research realized functions and modules of the system and did extensive related testing. Experimental evidence proved new system more superior to the traditional system.
