With the rapid development of computer and Internet, network security has become an important issue . Intrusion detection system (IDS) has expanded the concept of safe protection, remedied deficiency of traditional safe tactics. and protect computer from intrusion, immune system protect body from the harm of antigen. Thus, it is significant to put the methods and principles of biology immune into the fields of intrusion detection system.First, this thesis introduces the gloss, function, modeling methods and classification of the IDS. A brief introduction about the intrusion detection technology is made, and we concluded their drawbacks, point out the developmental direction in which the IDS will follow in future. Second, we researches basic theories of immunology, so we could refine principles and characteristics of immunology, we also introduces the basic concept of artificial immune system(AIS), the immune algorithms and some applications of AIS on IDS. Further more, we propose a new immune-based intrusion detection system model, design the model systemically. We also present the solutions of every module and the detection algorithm. And then we simply analyze the characters of the model. Through simulating the artificial immune-based intrusion detection system, we confirm that this model has advanced practicability. Finally, we predict the prospects of the researches of the artificial immune-based intrusion detection, and proposed the feasible work direction in the future.On the basis of learning and researching the formers' studies, the author of this paper propose an immune-based intrusion detection system model. This model proves veracity and reliability by increasing the burden of system. We hope that the point of view of this paper can do some help to interrelated studies.
