The status detection and fault diagnosis of Petrochemical equipment has been pay attention to industrial production departments. The rapid development of Infrared detection and diagnosis technology provides a new way to solve equipment status detection and fault diagnosis. Infrared detection technology used more and more widely with safe, accurate temperature measurement, non-contact characteristics etc, based on the infrared image of petrochemical equipment online detection and diagnosis become a very meaningful research.Most of the equipment failure with partial or overall overheating, or abnormal temperature distribution is characterized, so the infrared image analysis and research of heat-detection equipment on the premise. For the identification and analysis of objectives, need for a thermal image of the characteristics of the target region extracted from this picture. The study of the infrared detection and diagnosis technology on the basis of a study of the scope of petrochemical equipment infrared, thermal equipment failure and the degree grades, thermal processing equipment fault diagnosis etc. Analysis of the impact on the outcome of the detection and diagnosis factors and raised strategy of corresponding resolution.Research based on the threshold value of the infrared image segmentation, segmentation threshold of the results depend on the choice of the threshold value, in the threshold selection method based on the study of the threshold value and have been the target region, threshold and temperature relationship.Research based on the edge detection of infrared image segmentation, based on the proposed threshold of the best edge detection method to solve the fault grading different temperature distribution problems, on the basis of experiments proved the feasibility of this method.Finally, the paper made by the research results are summarized proposed future research direction.
