With the drastic frequency competition of communication, the usual communications with fixed frequency suffer from a serious threat. To ensure reliable communication capability, hopping communication system emerges. Frequency hopping communication technology has excellent anti-jamming performance and the multiple access network capacity. It has not only been widely used in military communication, but also in civil mobile communication, and its effect has become increasingly evident. In this Thesis, we firstly introduced the development of domestic/foreign HF radio and FH communication technology, and described the theoretical basis and the main characteristics of FH systems. Then we analyzed the system parameters of the System design, and focused on feasible measures which can improve the anti-jamming performance of FH radio.FH communication avoids the jamming from the way that the frequency of carrier hops randomly. If the FH radios of the same network want to communicate with each other, they must be hop to the same frequency at the same time. This synchronization is achieved by the FH control system, so the synchronization of FH system, is a key issue. In this thesis, detailed studies were made at this issue, the synchronization performance and the anti-jamming capability of FH system will be linked to analysis too. We then given an achievable, good system performance synchronization scheme for VHF tactical radio, also give the state transition diagram and flowchart which can achieve the scheme we discussed before. Finally, we calculated the synchronization performance indicators of this FH system and given the measured results to validate the scheme.
