With the rapid development of communication technology and network, the limit resource of frequency is becoming more and more congested, and the electronic jamming of frequency is also more and more serious. Frequency Hopping(FH) system has high security and excellent anti-jamming ability, now it is widely used in military and civil fields. As the heart of FH system, frequency synthesizer has very important influence on it. This paper focuses on fast FH synthesizer theory and the related technology, and raises the software and hardware design based on DSP to achieve the rapid frequency hopping.Direct Digital Synthesis(DDS) is a new generation of frequency synthesis technology and it takes the phase increment as the digital control signal, it has outstanding characteristics as follows: high frequency resolving power, fast frequency shift, continuous phase, low phase noise and is easily integrated. This thesis first introduces the different frequency synthesis technology, especially the principle and output frequency characteristics of DDS. Spurious-Free Dynamic Range(SFDR) is the main research on DDS nowadays.A detailed design of the fast FH frequency synthesizer is lucubrated here. The system's output signal range in the short wavelength and is with high frequency hopping rate. The system takes AD9852 as DDS and TMS320VC5402 as the control part. This design can't only be used as the FH frequency synthesizer, but can also be used as the generic test plate for DDS and DSP. The DSP programs for DDS through the 8 bits parallel and the design of FH code is also completed by the DSP. The last 2 chapters talk about the various circuit modules design(including DSP's smallest system and AD9852's external circuit) and software design. The debug process and improvements of the whole system is given at last as to provide references.
