With the development of the market economy, the enterprises in our country are faced with the large competitive pressure. So they need a better enterprise management information system urgently in order to adapt the drastic competitive environment. As the leading software of enterprise information, the ERP can make them enhance the level of business administration and strengthen the competing force. ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) includes with the modules of the supply management, It is based on the information technology. And it offers the operation means of decision for the policy-making lever and staff using the systematized management method. ERP system has become the operational modes of modern enterprises and reflected requirements of enterprises resources allocating rationally.The cost is a comprehensive economic target. The achievements of the enterprise's management can be reflected in the cost directly or indirectly. The cost is the comprehensive target of reflecting enterprise's work quality, and the cost control is an important working content of enterprises. The cost management system is an important subsystem of ERP system. The enterprises choose ERP system for reducing their operating costs scientifically. According to the concrete data, the enterprises make a rational decision-making in order to remain invincible on the market competition.At present, domestic foundry industries exist many problems. Such as, medium and small enterprises are much in number, the degree of specialization is low, property right structure is multiplicity, multi-ownership coexists, unbalanced distribution of enterprises, the competitiveness of product in the quality, technology, and delivery term are not strong. All these make domestic foundry industry haven't fully understood the ERP and haven't paid enough attention to the implementation of ERP. At the same time, because of the actual situation of the foundry industry enterprise, especially in the medium and small enterprises, the ERP have not been fully understood by the "top leaders" of the enterprise. The results in the immense effect of ERP can't be exerted well. The paper is enclosed with the foundational knowledge of ERP, the cost management and the cost decision-making. And it illuminates the actuality of the ERP cost management, the ERP application in the foundry industry, the ERP cost decision-making and the affection to the cost decision-making of ERP. In this design, the paper analyses the composing of the cost and the manufacture flow of the produce. It also illuminates all modules and subsystems in the system including the user-loading module, the casting parameters subsystem, the production process subsystem, the cost accounting subsystem, the equipment management subsystem and the system maintenance subsystem. Meanwhile, the article takes modeling department as example and carries out detailed exposition for the design idea of the system and the design and application of the database.The purpose of this project is to develop a cost information management and decision-making system of the casting material which is based on ERP system. The main research achievements are as follows:(1) We introduce ERP cost management to the foundry production, and. use the advanced ERP cost management idea to manage the foundry material combining with the situation of the foundry production. It breaks the bald status of the checking material cost in the foundry corporation, and it achieves to analyze the form process of the foundry production material's cost externally, truly and in-depth. It also provides the exact material cost information for the enterprise in the aspects of the cost management and making-decision.(2) It is used the contrasting analytical method for the material cost analysis. And it is determined the nature of the cost for the cost decision-making method. The system provides a set of the cost information management and the making-decision sub-system for the casting material. And in the whole producing process, it can calculate and analyze the cost scientifically, exactly and effectively. The enterprises can contrast the data of the forecasting material cost and the actual material cost among of some departments or the whole producing process. And then, it will find the problems in the production, make a better control of the producing cost and get more margins.(3) In the aspect of the software exploitation, the system sets the purview to every account to make sure that the system has the security and the fluency. And it sustains the blur search to improve the operation ability and the manager's work efficiency. The system is modularized. It is convenient to modification, development and reserving interface. Then you needn't modify too much to this system if you want to add other correlative modules.
