In this dissertation, we theoretically and experimentally investigate intra-cavity optical parametric generator with periodically poled lithium niobate.Optical parametric oscillators (OPO) have long held promise as potentially attractive sources of tunable IR radiation. The processing techniques developed in periodically poled materials allowed demonstration of a variety of QPM-OPO. There are lots of researches about quasi-phase-matched Intracavity optical parametric oscillator (IOPO), but Intracavity optical parametric generator (IOPG) is neglected, IOPG is easy to realize low-pump-threshold because of high density of power in the cavity. So we have done some researches about IOPG.In this paper, the research work and discovery are described as following:1. The development and applications of tunable coherent IR radiation are Introduced, periodically poled materials. At the same time, the different kinds of PPLN and the latest development at home and abroad are presented.2. We introduce the advantages and physical means of QPM, and from the coupled equations, describe the theory of QPM, The development and applications of optical parametric oscillations are introduced, as well as the basic theory.3. We designed a folded 3-mirror laser resonator. The expressions to calculate the radius and the place of laser waist are presented.4. We report the experiment on quasi-phase-matched intra-cavity optical parametric generator with PPLN, the signal wavelength can be tuned form 1.493 to 1.538μm. when using another multi-periods PPLN, the result is form 1.384μm to 1.541μm5. Describing the context of this work in historical perspective and in relation to current research, and discussing prospects for future work.
