Miniature parts are applied more and more broadly as instruments and equipments are getting widely miniature. Imaging measuring methods used in miniature parts have become a technology which is developing competitively at home and abroad, for the limitation of routine measurements. However, this kind of systems have to face the contradiction between the field of view and the precision, thus such approach obtains high precision at a sacrifice of the field of view. Whereas the new detection system designed in this paper is able to execute detection with enlarged field of view at the accuracy of machine fit.The contradiction between the precision and the field of view was solved by using image mosaic technique. Firstly, high-powered image acquisition equipment guarantees the high degree of precision on grabbed image; then the image mosaic method, which precondition is guaranteed precision, is based on templets and the method is able to obtain the integral image of the part; finally the corresponding image measuring algorithm can measure the geometric sense characteristic of the integral part image directly.There are three aspects in the primary coverage of this paper:The device choice of the imaging system:Appraising the imaging requirements of the miniature parts and selecting lens which can be used to carry out quasi planar measurements. Selecting the camera, this meets the accuracy of measurements, by analyzing the requirements of imaging quality and the lens'field of view. According to the specialities of the parts' geometric sense, this paper contrasted the actual experiment results of different type of illuminants and then selected the illuminants which can show the fringe of the parts and the figures in the templet distinctly.The designing and fabrication of the measuring system: The lighting system of the measuring system to measure outlines was analyzed, and analyzed the variance of uniformity of the image brightness where the low angle illuminant is at different positions. Then the position of the annular illuminant was ascertained. This paper designed and elaborated the main body, which can regulate the working distance, on the base of a microscope. The optical axis regulating mechanism is designed and fabricated at the location where the camera is fixed. The designing of working platform's mechanical movements takes four mosaics into account in advance and the fabrication is finished. The model machine is finished. The adjusting of the measuring system: The metrical impaction of aberration in the telecentric lens is analyzed using image processing method. The definition appraise algorithm which is applicable for the hardware system when using templets as background is worked out by the comparison of many kinds of image definition algorithms and the contrast with personal photos. Then the camera position is ascertained according to related algorithms. The specialities of telecentric lens are utilized so that the definition algorithm can be applied to the measurement of optical axis's inclination to work out the optical axis's inclination by dint of definition appraise experimental results and the inclination is adjusted.
