P2P technology connects users'computers directly to exchange files rather than connecting to a server first and then download. BT technology in the P2P is an excellent file resource sharing technology. Nowadays BT technology becomes more and more popular and perfect, and is becoming a necessary way to download resource from net.Currently many BT publish sites have emerged. BT user must surf numerous publish sites for needy files. Generally, it results in low efficiency. Moreover, the uneven quality of seed files makes downloading relatively low efficient and wastes network bandwidth.Firstly, P2P technology and several kinds of file-sharing protocol based on P2P are analyzed in detail in the paper. At the same time, detailed analysis and systematic exposition of the operation of the BT mechanisms and processes are presented, and some problems existing BT download process are gradually elicited. Quality assessment and retrieval system of BT seed files is designed to these problems. This system includes a web crawler and a file parser against the seed files. Therefore, it can automatically collect BT seed files in the network and separate the description information from sharing files, and record the historical index and description. Then, a time series forecasting method can assess the quality of the seed files based on those historical records. Through this method the system can sort the seed files and give users better query results. Experiment shows the system works well to find seeds with good quality.Besides, based on the retrieval system, a BT client improvement strategy is presented to merge similar seed files to enhance the efficiency of downloading.
