Implement Of An Independent Reporting Tool Based On Relational Database And Spreadsheet

Report is a means that people observe the world. Report is the main carrier of information in manual management. Report is still an indispensable tool that people access to information after creating computer information systems. The report models are a core in a computer information systems they are created by the reporting tools are made in foreign country. Because of differences between Chinese reports and foreign reports, the current reporting tools are not able to fulfil the characteristic of Chinese-style complex reports. According to complex characteristics of Chinese reports, this paper research the method to realize the reporting tool it accords with the requirements of Chinese-style complex reports, the detail is as following:1) New reporting tool must abandon band model, adopt the display the data with spreadsheet, realize the dynamic binding between spreadsheets and databases. It can design the report template and display information easily using spreadsheets.2) For the variational requirements of users and the needs of query the data from several relating databases this paper presents to build a reporting tool, it does not depend on any existing business systems running, it can access a variety of relational database, it can define the interface of query condition.3) New reporting tool can realize the single sign on and it guarantee the data security.
