Research On The Temporal Data Of Electronic Patient Record

With the application of information science and computer technology in the medical field, significant progress on hospital information construction has been made. As the core of hospital information system, electronic patient record(EPR) have been a subject of concern to medical information research workers. In many studies on EPR, the research on the expression of time(tag), especially on the express of uncertain temporal data that based on natural language, is the key areas in the standardized construction of EPR.This article analyze the tradional expression of time and temporal data on EPR , on the bases of the uncertainty effective time of EPR and medical workers' specific needs of time's describe in the medical and scientific process, with semantic knowledge and the knowledge of object-oriented methods, this paper proposes an temporal data model, which based on the natural language expressions and supporting uncertain time attribution. The model named Temporal Model of Natural Language (NLTM). This article achieve a practical application of medical simulation and verification of data. The research used the new model and traditional methods to descript the same temporal data of medical records, compareing their performance. The results showed that, the model have more theoretical and practical significance on the areas of the express of uncertain effective time and realization of fuzzy queries for EPR.
