All-metal structural corrugated waveguides and corrugated groove waveguides are a very important kind of slow-wave system, and the study on slow-wave characteristics of these waveguides has great theoretical and practical significance. In this paper, the rectangular corrugated circular waveguide and rectangular corrugated elliptic waveguide are analyzed by using mode-matching method. The sinusoidal corrugated elliptic waveguide and one side arbitrary corrugated rectangular waveguide are studied by expanding the boundary of slow-wave structure in Fourier series form. The sinusoidal corrugated circular groove waveguide is analyzed by combining mode-matching method and expanding the boundary in Fourier series form. Dispersion equations of some corrugated waveguides for transmitting HE mode have been derived. Slow-wave characteristics of TM mode for each corrugated waveguide are particularly analyzed. The dispersion characteristics as well as the curves of pass-band and stop-band characteristics versus structural parameters are obtained. Attenuation characteristics for some corrugated waveguides are also analyzed. The computational results have been compared and verified with related theoretical results. The obtained outcomes are of important reference significance to the analysis, design and manufacture for microwave devices based on these structures.By analyzing corrugated waveguides and corrugated groove waveguides, it is observed that there are a series of discrete pass-band and stop-band in slow-wave systems. It is also found that different structure parameters have different influence on the pass-band and stop-band. By setting different structure parameters, different central frequencies and bandwidths of pass-band and stop-band can be obtained to realize a filter of a special frequency band. So slow-wave systems can be applied not only in microwave generators with high power and linear accelerators, but also in microwave filters.
