The radar extractor is used for the signal detection and extraction in radar processor, which can send out the primary video frequency and control the working modes of radar processor, meanwhile come into being analog target signal. The technology of target recognition is used to automatically identify the category and attribute of an unknown target, which based on the echo signal from the background clutter which will be processed by some signal processing methods including data acquisition and pre-processing, feature extraction and matched sorting. The key technology of target recognition is how to obtain the real-time and exact target data from the radar extractor. As the former unit in the system of target recognition, the signal detection and extraction is one of important subsystem, which success or not will influence the military application of target recognition radar.In the current, with the developing radar standardization, the requirement for radar automatic extractor is becoming more and more strict, besides with the feature of powerful processing capability, flexible interface function and operating diversification, the extractor should also be small-sized, high-reliability and low-cost facing to the different requirements and market competition. In order to satisfy the above features, the design of a small-sized and automatic signal detection and extraction equipment which can realize the different methods signal detection and extraction by using the ADSP21060 chip made by ADI Lt. Co and large-scale EPLD apparatus in one suit of hardware platform is presented in this paper.
