During these years, the services on the internet develop quickly. With it, plenty of technologies and applications change fast. The network becomes a significant way for people's communications. The growing popularity of IP telephony systems has made them attractive targets for spammer. In the future, the security of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) will be an important security issue.SPIT (Spam over IP Telephony) is an attack through the multimedia information to do the recipient merchandising, commercial advertising or malicious calls. It causes serious problems to the normal users' life and work, also that public services are unable to provide the timely and effective services. That will cause a serious network resources waste behaviors. Thus, SPIT will be a significant problem in the future. Compare with SPAM emails, SPIT will be difficult to detect with a single detection method. Moreover, it will be needed to increase effectiveness and to adapt the kinds of methods to solve the problem. In our paper, we analyze all kinds of main technologies to combatSPIT and explore a novel effective Anti-SPIT mechanism--combatinga method based duration of calls to establish social network linkages and global reputations for callers with SPIT abnormal behaviors feedback algorithm to detect and combat SPIT. Also we provide actual SIP VoIP environments analysis results. SPAM already exists in the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) but because of the relatively high cost of the caller the problem is limited. However, before SIP spam becomes a real threat for the SIP user's communities, its detection has to be so far a necessary component of our online security and privacy protection.
