| In most fast-growing cities in China, more and more tall buildings in new communities in such a high density have caused many difficulties on deploying radio coverage by utilizing outdoor BTS sources. Furthermore, the fact that BTS equipment can not be deployed inside the communities or limited coverage area makes it necessary to have a total solution for community coverage. Tall buildings block radio signals and lead to path loss, especially for the system working on high frequency like PHS system. In addition, armored concrete framework in modern architecture with all-sealed internal and external fitment blocks radio signal that considerable path loss happened in these buildings. Currently main problems existed in community radio network coverage are listed as below.Coverage:Weak coverage areas, even blind spots, occur because considerable transmission loss happens when radio signals are blocked and absorbed by the buildings themselves.Capacity:Huge density of mobile phone subscribers gathered in small community areas, such as shopping malls, residential communities, villages in city center, wholesale markets, could generate huge traffic flow at almost the same time periods that cause local network capacity out of flow and radio channel congestion.Quality of Service:It is very much likely that below problems occur: Radio frequency interference in up part of the building and weak/unstable signal strength in lower part, Ping-pong cutover, pilot signal pollution, unguaranteed QoS and drop calls.Traffic Requirements:Community subscribers are stable and reliable to operators, who have requirements on traffic, especially subscribers in CBD areas. To keep existing market share and to develop new market share require better radio network performance.Community coverage places:Residential Communities, in despite of areas and building external shapes;Wholesale Markets, Groceries, Villages in city center;Squares, Parks, Malls. |
