Broadband and mobility is the development direction of future communications. And how to provide high speed communication in complex wireless environment becomes a hot research topic in recent years. In this paper, MIMO and OFDM, which are consider as two core technologies of future mobile communication, are combined to realize high speed wireless communication. And the key technologies of MIMO-OFDM system are researched.MIMO, which can use the parallel channels existing between the Rx and Tx, can increase the channel capacity of the system. Considering the multi-path and Doppler Effect of mobile channel, the special modulation structure of OFDM technology is used to improve the system reliability.Based on the research of MIMO and OFDM principle, this paper focused on how to build MIMO-OFDM system, and in-depth researched on the MIMO correlative channel, space-time coding/decoding and channel estimation. Then the advantages of MIMO and OFDM were combined to build a MIMO-OFDM simulation system to meet the requirements of future wireless broadband communication. And the related arithmetic was analyzed and compared in various channel environments. Finally, the arithmetic of various modules was given and the simulation platform was built.The result of the simulation indicated that this system showed a good performance in a poor channel environment, in which multi-path and Doppler Effect exist.
