The open nature of P2P systems, the complexity of P2P application environments and the freedom nature of peers made the trust management among peers be the prerequisite foundation of the system maintenance in a P2P network.JXTA was an open P2P network platform proposed by Sun to construct general P2P applications and services, which provided a good environment for technique researches and application developments in peer-to-peer field. The thesis proposed a composite trust model based on the JXTA platform, which provided a relative full consideration on trust relationship management. Through organizing P2P system members into JXTA peergroups, the model evaluated the local trust and behavior trust of the peer members according to each peer's attributes and history transactions respectively. As to a peer requested to attend a peergroup, the model extended the JXTA peergroup membership service to evaluate the peer's interest, which made up its local trust value. As to a member in the peergroup, its transaction records were evaluated to get the behavior trust. The composite trust model took the local trust of a peer as reference for its first transaction in a peergroup, which solved the initialization problem of trust evaluation methods based on history action. The behavior evaluation towards history action categorized a peer's transactions records into three parts, studying a peer's action by integrating trust evaluation methods based on experience, recommendation and credit, which reflected the peer's performance in next transaction more accurately.A JXTA file-sharing system was designed and implemented to carry out the composite trust model. Moreover, a P2P network environment was emulated using the P2P query emulator made by Stanford University. The present study showed that the composite trust model is anti-deceive, anti-attack and can encourage peer-members to act well rather than balefully.
