Wavelength switchable fiber laser is used widely in many fields, especially in the present optical source of WDM network router. This dissertation is concerned with two novel switchable fiber lasers, including dual-wavelength switchable fiber laser based on SLFP filter and Switchable erbium-doped fiber laser using optical injection controlling.This dissertation proposes a SLFP filter which is based on Sagnac loop incorporating two FBGs, one section of PMF and PCs. Its function is the optical interference in Sagnac fiber. We theoretically and experimentally analyze the transmission traits of novel Sagnac loop, and realize dual-wavelength and single wavelength output switchable ring fiber laser through adjusting PCs. Compared with traditional FBG band filter, such filter can switch each wavelength independently. It has much more flexible wavelength-selection and switch method.We also propose and demonstrate a new wavelength-switchable method with all-optical controlling. By adjusting the power of injected light in a cascaded fiber Bragg grating overlapping cavity erbium-doped fiber laser, we obtained the switching among dual wavelength, single wavelength and zero wavelength. Meanwhile, the effect of optical injection in erbium-doped fiber laser was investigated, and the optimized wavelength to control the lasing wavelength has been found. Compared with traditional EDF laser, such wavelength-switching method is much more flexible and faster.
