The vision project seeks to develop an implantable retinal prosthesis to restore vision to blind patients. Individuals who are born with normal sight but then lose vision slowly from degeneration of their rods and cones are potential candidates. Retinitis pigmentosa and age-related macular degeneration are two important forms of blindness we hope to treat.This paper mainly discussed the retinal chip. On the basis of the brief introduction of the development of MEMS technology and retinal chip, the operating principle and some key problem of retinal chip were introduced concretely, and the design, fabrication process and test of the device were discussed further. As for the electrochemical corrosion of titanium electrode, we set up a new project that is the fabrication of platinum electrode on titanium. Finally, we get the composite electrode of platinum and titanium which is suitable for retinal prosthesis through electroplating platinum on titanium.
