Multiple Input Multiple Output(MIMO)technique is a great breakthrough in wireless communication, which can greatly increase the capacity and spectrum efficiency of a wireless system without occupying more bandwidth and becomes a key technique of the next-generation mobile communications. The paper firstly introduces evolution of MIMO,points out the necessary of combination of MIMO and OFDM and gives the model of MIMO-OFDM and key techniques. Then the paper introduces the wireless channel fading characteristics and the state-of-the art in MIMO radio channel modeling, further studies the simulation methods of MIMO channel models. The paper mainly explores the MIMO channel estimation methods based on pilot symbol assistance and the detection algorithms for V-BLAST,and combines the detection algorithms for V-BLAST with Turbo code and MIMO-OFDM channel estimation methods, further gives the better detection algorithms for V-BLAST.Simulation platform of MIMO-OFDM system is build up and the simulation results of V-BLAST detection algorithms combined with Turbo code and channel estimation methods is compared.
