By using computer technology to optimizing the pattern and forecasting the electric field covering status of a multi-face antenna array is a very meaningful question for discussion. It is useful and important for setting up a new wireless station. This method can bring up a blueprint for project and reduce blindness, which will save time and expenses.Since 1980s, lots of CAD research for antenna array has been taken at home and abroad. The last century, work of some units were done by Grate Wall 0520-CH and DXY-880A Plotter, which made horizontal pattern, vertical, and parameters such as antenna gain can be printed or display in front of users, in which way it is intuitive and clear.First this paper introduced the fundamental principle of antenna, such as dipole, fundamental electrical parameter, principle of antenna array, theory of space propagation, etc. For the development of software, some necessary computer technology is introduced, such as object oriented programming thought, MFC(Microsoft Foundation Class), DirectDraw etc. On the basis of the RF theory above, this paper mainly analysed the physical module of the four-face antenna array in the three array mode of normal arrayed, offset arrayed and oblique arrayed. Then some mathematic and electromagnetic theory is used to set up the mathematic module of multi-layer multi-face antenna array's 3D pattern and field. With the computer technology mentioned earlier, the paper modulely discussed and analysed the software development method. Then the mathematic module is digitized and the software design is completed. After that, on the basis of lots of coding work(15 functions, 79 classes, about 3000 lines of code), the software is completed. This software can plot horizontal pattern and each vertical pattern of multi-layer multi-face antenna array. It can also compute the field's coverage and display it.By contrasting the software's result and the theoretical module, as well as the result of HFSS simulation, this software can be considered to be able to expediently, quickly, and comparing accurately forecast the antenna tower's pattern and given area's electric field status. It can be considered to achieve the desired results.At last, by using Ansoft HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulation) to set up the multi-face antenna's physical module, to set excitations and boundaries, etc, the antenna array is simulated. The simulation result shows that the software can comparing accurately design and forecast the given antenna's pattern. Also the software can more expediently and quickly tell the pattern. Besides, it has the advantage of forecasting the field coverage of some special terrain.
