There are a lot of needs in film making and game design to imitate ocean surface. This thesis will discuss the method of generating the ocean surface shape quickly. Basing on the ocean surface shape FFT algorithms and the development of GPU today, we put forward moving the FFT computation to the GPU performance to improve the efficiency of the several shape generating of ocean surface. With the help of CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) developed for GPGPU (general use graphics processing unit) by NVIDIA company recently, we will carry out the ocean surface FFT computation on GPU conveniently. The author of this thesis designs and fulfills the practicing project of applying the method above-mentioned to generate ocean surface, for improving the true feeling of views, the author also applies the GPU rendering method to render the view of ocean surface to exertive function of GPU. The experiment above explains there is higher efficiency and fast FPS (frames per second) in the process of generating of ocean surface. |
