Vector Network is a new type of network technology. Vector Network designs a new presentation of topology which is based on the network topology of PNNI, and designs the concept of vector address and uses vector address for data transfer. Vector address is a new method for addressing, which is based on the port rather than node itself or communication links. Compared with the traditional IP network, vector network has many new features, such as the control plane is separation of transmission plane and better QoS, etc., this paper will concern the mobility of vector network, focus on some design ideas and concrete methods of vector network to support mobile. Vector Network separates the physic topology and logical topology, and separates the switching address and name address. Logical topology corresponds node's name address, and the physical topology of the nodes corresponds the switching address, node's mobility only affect the physical topology and the switching address, without affecting the logical topology and name address. Through this separation the mobile protocol hides the details of the mobile for the upper protocol, the nodes achieve a transparent mobile. This paper also discussed the Vector Network's application in the Ad Hoc network. Ad Hoc network is a multi-hop, wireless, self-organizing network. Vector Network designs a new data transmission method, in theory this method can be applied to various kinds of data communication network, this paper specifically discussed the application of vector data transmission in the Ad Hoc network. The basic idea is that in Ad Hoc network if a node has any connectivity with other nodes, allocates a port, the port can be dynamically allocated and recovery, through such ports, builds vector address, and uses vector address for data transmission.
