The rapid development of digital technology and the popularity of the Internet have brought great convenience to people's work and life. However, as we have seen, the use of the openness of the network and shared by a number of malicious acts, such as copyright infringement, information distortion, seriously damaged the digital works of creators and the interests of users. In order to protect the copyright of multimedia, people initially used for multimedia data encryption, but once the password is cracked, it will be spread and directly cause economic losses of copyright holders, and after the emergence of digital watermarking technology, it is a good complement for the multimedia copyright protection, and it can finish the job that document encryption can not be completed by the results.In this paper, it studies information hiding and digital watermarking issues. Firstly, it introduces a digital watermarking technology and the concept of information hiding, classification, and some typical applications of digital watermarking algorithm. Secondly, it describes the application of wavelet theory. Finally, according to the current digital image watermarking technology of the status quo, it proposes two digital watermarking algorithms based on wavelet transform.(1) A new location watermarking robustness of the algorithm based on wavelet domain image feature of the new character location. First, the host images are decomposited using wavelet, and then its feature points are extracted as an index in wavelet coefficients of the low-frequency sub-band.(2) A blind watermarking algorithm based on lifting scheme wavelet and encrypted watermarking. First, the host images are decomposited using wavelet, and then we selected corresponding coefficients of wavelet sub-band to embedded watermark information through the visual model selection. On the process of watermark embedding, it used improved methods to quantify, and made full use of wavelet domain of human visual system characteristics.
