With the development of information technology, the cross-domain collaboration supported by CSCW (Computer Supported Cooperative Work) systems becomes more and more popular. In the teamwork environment, it is a notable problem of how to improve the way of information sharing and remove the barriers of information heterogeneity between members of teamwork groups.Based on GIS (Geographic Information System), CoGIS (Cooperative Geographic Information plotting System) is a cooperative working platform. CoGIS aims at providing en environment for the geography-scattered users to accomplishment collaboratively and coordinately certain tasks. CoGIS is built on the traditional GIS platform. The attribute data of plotting information has the characteristic of closure. Meantime, the attribute data of plotting information added by users from various domains has the characteristic heterogeneity and local-autonomy. For removing the closure characteristic, it is necessary to adopt a unified meta-data model GML (Geography Markup Language) to represent the attribute data of plotting information. For reducing the heterogeneity and local-autonomy, it is necessary to adopt schema matching technology to calculate the similarity of element pairs in GML schema. Based on the general schema matching, the dynamic weight modulating function are adopted. After organizing the criterions by dynamic weight modulating function, the similarity of element pairs is figured out. Then the GML application schema is designated as the template of plotting objects' attribute data. After synthesizing the above methods, the architecture of plotting information-oriented schema matcher, the scheme and steps of plotting information integration are put forward.Last, based on the above study, the proto type system of the plotting information integration is designed and implemented. The result of experimentation indicates that schema matching technology can effectively accomplish the task of plotting information integration, and then have provided effective way of communication using plotting, then it basically achieves our elementary goals. Then the users in CoGIS can directly and transparently get the similarity relationship of plotting information in the collaboration actions; thus, they can communicate more efficiently in cooperative working environment.
