With the continuous improvement of user requirements, more and more embedded devices use embedded Linux which is powerful and cheap and become to use complex GUI system. Qt with its powerful functions, a good portability, becomes a widely-used GUI system. By the development of embedded system and the corresponding graphical user interface,embedded software development is to be more and more important. Because the embedded media player can meet people's enjoyment, it is becoming an important part of the whole system. Developing media player on embedded system is a hot point now. A lot of embedded productions contain media player. A solution of media player based on Qt and embedded system will be meaningful in practice usage.In this thesis, based on the requirement of wireless multimedia terminal system, through comparison of structure features of several popular media players, the author proposes a framework for embedded media player. This design is to expand, portable, efficient features and overcomes other embedded media players'common shortcomings such as poor expansionary, difficult to transplant and inefficient. Also with emphasis on analysis of the existing audio and video synchronization algorithms in MPEG-2, the author points out that this method is inadequate and proposes a way for embedded system. This method can enhance the performance of audio and video synchronization of embedded media player. On this basis, the author designs and makes media player based on Qt and embedded system. And some function and design of each module are depicted in detail; also important flow chart is analyzed. Among that, the key techniques and problem are emphasized. Further, the author designed test scheme to validate media player's capability, the test results show that it completely satisfies the embedded system users'demand.The media player has been adopted in wireless multimedia terminal system. The result and practice prove it a portable solution and applicable in various situations.
