In current Internet, network resource is represented by different address forms, including URL (Uniform Resource Locator), email address and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) number etc. Different names are processed by different programs and it increases the difficulty for users to use them as well as to do universal search. In order to conquer these problems, the Universal Network establishes new network structure, which departs into network layer and service layer two parts. The service layer imports service identifier and connection identifier. Service identifier, which uses 160 bits hash number, is used to establish the unite representation form for all resources. And connection identifier is used to identify one connection between two communication sides. After research on different network architectures in current Internet and the Universal Network's service identifier, the resource initiative registration system is designed. In addition to discovering and downloading network resources initiatively, the system can also generate service identifier for network resources and establish mapping between service identifier and connection identifier. Users are able to find all the mapping information from all parts of the system. The system is departed into two parts, service application layer and network topology layer. The underlying network of the registration system uses peer-to-peer structure as service identifier uses 160 bits hash number. And the procedure of restoring and finding is consisted with peer-to-peer distributed hash finding and restoring model. The upper layer of the registration system is based on the idea of network spider. These new tasks are distributed by static methods. Also packages and communication flows are both designed to decrease network traffic. The new initiative registration system is deployed on experimental network. The result shows that our system can discover network resources and store them with service identifiers, which meet the basic requirement of Universal Network. Also it has the feature of full using of hardware resources, easy to extend and load balancing. The implementation of this system builds a foundation for further research on Universal Network.
