Wireless sensor networks(WSN), as a brand-new technique in information acquisition and processing, can be wildly used in many areas such as Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), national defense, environmental supervision, medical treatment, out space exploration and so on. It is considered as one of the most important techniques of the 21st century. Self-Localization is one of the indispensable supporting techniques in wireless sensor networks, and has widely drawn attention of domestic and foreign scholars. In wireless sensor networks, sensor localization plays a critical role in the realistic application background of localization of ITS. Based on the investigation of DV-Hop localization algorithm, an improved node positioning algorithm is proposed, together with the discussion of algorithm principle and realization issues. The main details are as follows:First: Based on analyzing of the hop distance of the DV-Hop localization algorithm. RSSI-based and the average hop distance are proposed to solve nodes overlapped seriously existing in experimental high-way.Second: Considering the co linearity degree of nodes. Therefore, Hyperbolic is improved in order to enhance WSN's stability and localization precision.Third: In sensor field, ill-connected node can't locate accurately by WSN, hence Max method is improved in this paper, which adds new beacon at he point that has the highest measured localization error among all points. Finally, simulation results show that the performance of localization algorithm is significantly improved compared with the DV-Hop algorithm.
