Research On Authentication And Access Control In Grid Security

Grid has been more and more popular in recent years. It has been widely applied and has a bright prospect. Grid makes research and study convenient, but the security of gird must be taken into account.Agent-based grid security architecture was discussed in this paper, according to the requirement analysis of grid security. Compared with traditional grid security architecture, the authentication and access control mechanism are significantly improved. The technologies related to grid security are introduced firstly in this paper, which is the foundation of grid security model. Secondly, based on the analysis of grid security problems and discussed the service which the grid safe should provide, an agent-based grid security architecture model was proposed. As the limitation of the present authentication model, a star topology authentication was proposed to impove the authentication mechanism. Finally, access control mechanism was introduced; the defection of role-based access control mechanism was discussed and the conception "object role" is introduced to improve the access control model. Thus, grid can not only manage users, but also manage resources.
