The general principle, developing history and its large positive effect on human lives and social production about measurement uncertainty are introduced briefly at the beginning of this thesis. Then following works are conducted based on the principle and method of measurement uncertainty and according to the specific measurant (the modified gear testing centre Mahr891E) which is tested and evaluated.(1) Kinematic accuracy of relevant parts in Mahr891E is tested, providing the initial measuring data and the evaluated scope for successive process.(2) The effect from kinematic accuracy of relevant parts on the measurement accuracy of gear involute profile in Mahr891E is carried out in detail and the measurement uncertainty of gear involute profile testing system is evaluated based on the general principle of measurement uncertainty. Then comparison between such uncertainty and the value of deviation in accuracy grade of involute profile in ISO 1328 is made, and the uncertainty is between the values of grade 0 to grade 1.(3) The effect from kinematic accuracy of relevant parts on the measurement accuracy of gear helix in Mahr891E is conducted in detail and the measurement uncertainty of gear helix testing system is evaluated based on the general principle of measurement uncertainty. The uncertainty is between the values of grade 2 to grade 3 in ISO 1328.(4) The effect from kinematic accuracy of relevant parts on the measurement accuracy of gear pitch in Mahr891E is calculated in detail and the measurement uncertainty of gear pitch testing system is evaluated based on the general principle of measurement uncertainty. The uncertainty is between the values of grade 2 to grade 3 in ISO 1328.(5) The conclusion is that the measuring system in such Mahr891E reaches an ultra-precision gear testing level defined in Cylindrical Gears-ISO System of Accuracy and GB/T10095,1-2001 according to the measurement uncertainty of gear involute profile, helix, and pitch systems, and the effect from the measuring environment and operator on the result of measurement.
