The high speed power line communication (PLC) has been one of the hotspots in communication field, to achieve high speed and reliable communication in PLC network will be a quantum leap in communication field.This paper first introduce the basic conception of PLC,then we analyse the noise and channel model of the PLC,then we adopt OFDM and single carrier BPSK separately as the modulation technology for PLC,and the result of the simulation showed that OFDM is more efficient than BPSK in resisting the PLC impulse noise,and we also give the theoretical analysis of why OFDM is better than BPSK. After that,we introduce a proper interleaving technology for OFDM,and this special kind of interleaver can perfectly overcome the narrow band interference and impulse noise at one time. At last, we summarize the basic theory of adaptive loading algorithms, and introduce the baseband model of HomePlug AV (a standard of PLC), then we simulated two kind of bit loading algorithms base on HomePlug AV model, the channel model we adopted is Holger Philipps model, The channel estimation algorithms we use are ideal estimation and LS estimation. The simulation result showed that both of the bit loading algorithm can achieve the expected bit rate of HomePlug AV standard, in addition,if the channel estimation is not accurately enough,the performance floor may occured while using high level modulation, this kind of phenomena may stop the bit loading algorithm from working normally.
