The main issues in this paper refer to infrared image preprocessing algorithms, real-time tracking and DSP system software design. Combine with infrared thermal imaging instruments which were based on TIDSPC6414, four special subjects are lucubrated: image enhancing, anti-occlusion and anti-disturb in tracking, process scheduling, systems monitor and parallel policy on DSP. A new system design based on the conception of SOC is also given.Processing and tracking algorithms. Put forward some IR image algorithms by analyzing the characteristics of IR image such as: low contrast,ununiformity,wide gray dynamic range. These algorithms include histogram normalize,grey-level redundancy equilibrating,restricted airspace shaping and multi-frame stat. filter. All algorithms are easily to translate into hardware and the result shows that the effect of the technique is well. In order to solve the failure of tracking in some occlusion and disturb situation, the algorithms based on prediction and multi-character match are proposed. They are practicality while running on hardware.System software of DSP. Learn from the theory of modern operating systems, improve the traditional process-objected method on DSP. Use AB-frame policy for process scheduling, use the pipeline of per-line receiving and processing to reduce delay, use multi-watch dog to improve robust of system.Based on the conception of SOC, a new design of this image process systems is given. This design was already carried out which proves the feasibility of SOC in our systems.
