In the imaging tracker capability evaluation system, for the purpose of implementing the testing of the imaging tracker real-time capability, it is the key foundation that transferring the real time image data in a high speed between the evaluation system and the tested imaging tracker. Thereafter, for the simple and convenient connect, USB (Universal Serial Bus) 2.0 standard, whose transfer rate can reach 480Mbps, was adopted in the interface system. And the interface system meets the demand of real-time image transfer.The paper analyzes in detail the requirements of imaging tracker capability evaluation system for the interface when transferring images and the feasibility of interface scheme, and designs the interface collectivity scheme. The paper discusses detailedly the architecture and feature of USB, including the USB system constitutes, bus protocol, transfer type, data flow model, and so on. The paper researchs the capability and feature of USB2.0 chip based on USB2.0, the detailed hardware design is given. After reasearching the endpoint choice of USB device, enumeration process, the method and flow of firmware design, the firmware design is implemented. WDM driver model, develop tool and design method are discussed firstly, then the USB driver design of interface system is presented detailedly. According to the application demand, client application program is finished and a multithreading programme method for solving the share memory conflict is put forward. The whole interface system mostly making use of USB2.0 bus for the transfer channel and the FPGA for the microcontroller, implement the image data transfer in high speed. At last, the interface system is implemented and worked properly. Experiments have shown that the interface's average transfer rate had reached 128Mb/s. Thus it can meet the requirements for real-time high speed transfer of image data.Furthermore, the booting method from the flash of TMS320C6x DSP of imaging tracker is researched and carried out.
