In the modern manufacture, packagings distinguish from one to another, not only indicate the class of the product, but also protect the product from damp, and prevent losing of its smell. One example is the transparency plastic packaging film on the tobacco box.Modern packaging equip. can package the box with BOPP film automatically, but most of detection equip. can only detect the quantity of the packaging such as whether the seal is damaged, whether the trademark is all right. Seldom has any equipment that determines whether the film is OK during the packaging. It is useless for the tobacco box if the film is damaged, and can bring disadvantages for the manufacturer.The thesis using the theory of machine vision to determine whether the packaging film is damaged or not, which contains the following contents:(1) Research the optics detection theory of the transparency plastic thin film. Current ways of MV detection is based on the image processing. So first research the machine vision and optics detection theory.(2) The description of damage detection algorithm: design the relative image processing arithmetic to process the image, and extract the character of the image, then analyze it.(3) The realization of the arithmetic on DM642 platform: TMS320DM642 developed by Texas instrument is an excellent image processor. The instruction developed only for signal processing makes the image processing arithmetic run much faster and more powerful. In this system, DSP not only do the image processing work, but also control the whole system.(4 ) The optimization of the arithmetic: Optimize the arithmetic designed before, to ensure the detection more effective, more precise, and much faster.After system testing, the system has an perfect stability and heleness. The identification of tobacco box has high precision, very high speed, better than 2 boxs/sec required, but 6 boxs/sec.
