DWDM technique and optical amplifier are two milestones in fiber communication field. With the development of telecommunication technology, the optical communication will meet a new challenge of more channels, higher bits rates, wilder bandwidth and further transmission distance. So in the communication system, there is higher requirement of the multiplication and de-multiplication technology. The tunable filter has an especially importance in the tunable laser--light resource of the DWDM system. So , the widely tunable filter is considered.Compared with other types of filters, the solid F-P etalon has better temperature stability, easier method of management, and has lower cost. Using the solid F-P etalon should be a best choice in our project. We could have the fast tunable speed as the other kind of tunable filter, and also can achieve wilder tunable range.The content of this dissertation is on the research of Wuhan importance technology plan project"Widely tunable fiber laser". The main research contents and results are given as follows:(1) The basic theory of widely tunable filter based on F-P etalon is detailed. And the performance of F-P etalon is simulated.(2) Gives the design scheme of the tunable filter module. Introduce the main optical passive device. The realization of the optical part is stressed.(3) Design the circuit of the F-P tuning, ensure the precision and repetition ability.(4) According to the contract, A test scheme is studied out. All test results are set out detailed.
