The Application Of Evaluation System In Vocational Colleges

As a new teaching type of the higher education , vocational education has taken up the half part . With the rapid development of the vocational education , it is urgent to improve the teaching quality of it . Teaching evaluation to the vocational colleges is the key index to measure a school's teaching qualities . The Department of Education pays high attention to the teaching evaluation to the vocational colleges and establish teaching evaluation center of higher education to assess the schools every five years .Every school has a lot of information to classify and collect and the evaluation contents include many items , so it is difficult to finish by hand work . Therefore Net-work information is urgently needed to converge and manage these data . Many vocational colleges have very good net-work equipment after several years'development ,and this provides the necessary hardware basis for the teaching evaluation .The first chapter of the article comparatively analysis the teaching evaluation between domestic schools and overseas schools . The overseas teaching evaluation starts earlier , but there are great differences between the overseas and domestic teaching evaluation , so there is not much to learn from in the aspect of the development of the computer management software . Meanwhile , the domestic teaching evaluation actually begins in the year 2004 and there is less development in this aspect , so the developing of the teaching evaluation system is realistic .The second chapter , according to the developing requirements , studies all kinds of models in the developing process of computer . File Server Model ( F/S ) is a network database application model based on local network , and it cannot meet the need of the modern network .Client/Server model based on the traditional computer systematical structure with countless defects. Because the Browser/Server has the merits of installing the browser only rather than installing database or application process, we use B/S model to expend this project .Also we use Windows2000 as server for the development and expansion, select ASP to develop and Database select SQL Server2000 . In the process of development , we attempt to use UML , so we also introduce the UML modeling skill .The third chapter is the systematical analysis and design of the teaching evaluation system . The teaching evaluation can be divided into two major stages : the school preparing stage and expert assessing stage , so we design basic data management , college evaluation processing and systematical management the three models . Basic data management is about school's material preparation ; college evaluation processing is about the expert's evaluation work management . In the design we use UML modeling technique to model the teaching evaluation system . According to the requirement of the system , we only model the main function of the system and illustrate the partial necessary parts .The forth chapter describes the details of impletation and the relevant problems of vocational evaluation system. Based on the principles of preparing being on college's hand, final-stage under the charge of experts, pre-stage is mainly led by evaluation office, and then assign the tasks to the branches. The finished tasks are assessed by the evaluation office, and file the qualified ones.According to the requirement of procedure, the models of evaluation office are including: the announcement of information, the public information browsing, receiving and sending e-mail, tasks assessment, searching for standard of evaluation, maintaining the information of experts, and maintaining the document. Evaluation office spreads the relevant information and assigns the tasks to the branches in time. The public browses the public information. E-mail is used to deliver the document between the evaluation office and the each branch. Publishing information and receiving and sending e-mail is a mutual skill in ASP, hence much information can be appreciated. We design the e-mail built on the distinguished features of evaluation, and add the sign of task to be assigned, to be handed in, and to be received. If the evaluation office wants to send e-mail, they can make it only by clicking the sign.When clicking the sending sign, the sign automatically writs to the assesses table appears in the form, and then the branches can receive the tasks .only by clicking the receiving sign to make sure the sign accessing in the form to be assessed. When finishing the tasks, the branches click the sending sign, and then the sening sign automatically writs to the assesses table .If the evaluation office assesses the tasks to be qualified, the finishing sign can be kept into the database. If not, the sending sign will be canceled. After the branches resumes the tasks, the sending sign should be done. In the way, the evaluation office can monitor the tasks to be done. The duty for maintaining model is to file the finished tasks to be searched. Similarly, maintaining models for the branches work the same except for the fewer functions owing to the different tasks.The evaluation stage is on the experts'hands. Generally speaking, the experts first get to know the situation of the college, check out the information (original information) provided by the college, and then score the tasks individually to get the final mark. The evaluation is operated according to the standard of cultivating the talents of vocational college, so the database designed on the first–class index, second–class index makes the table, and each branch sets the database on their own to be scored and gather the final. Models for evaluation mainly include the follows: setting the evaluation plan, managing the evaluation information, scoring the evaluation index, gathering the final mark.The outputting of the marks provides the experts with convenience and efficiency. This system is designed for our college'evaluation with practice and efficiency.The paper concludes the development of the project, prospects the future of the evaluation system, and put forward the conception of setting a network evaluation system centered by provincial education bureau.
