WiFi is a brand originally licensed by the WiFi Alliance to describe the underlying technology of wireless local area networks (WLAN) based on the IEEE 802.11 specifications. Recently, with the more and more widely application of WiFi more and more products appear in the market, so how to test these products and how to evaluate the performance of wireless network become a new focus. In the same time, with the more and more broad perspective of WiFi, better and better quality of service and products is expected. It makes necessary to own an appropriate test platform for operator. Though almost every provider has already had their own equipment and test solution, it costs too much and is not really designed for the need of operator. So it is very important to implement an effective and powerful platform.Based on the research of structure and principle of WiFi network, this thesis will analyze the different functions of the IEEE 802.11x and propose the principal parameters that are tested by this real time test platform in oder to show the performance of network or product according to the requirements of the standard.Firstly, this thesis changes existed products and builds a hardware model in laboratory. On Linux system, depending on the text program and compiling of the relative Openwrt software this platform implements collection, save, pick-up, statistic and display of test parameter results. What is more, by Web interface, results can be observed or received wherever and whenever from long-distance. An effective and powerful platform is implemented finally.
