The Graduate Instructional Management System (GIMS) is important constituent of Graduate Instructional Management and symbols the information degree of the Graduate Instructional. It plays the vital role to improve the graduate Instructional Management, save the human resources, realize the sharing of information resource and ensure high efficiency and scientificity of the graduate instructional management.According to graduate instructional management condition, we try to develop a graduate Instructional Management System(GIMS) which is appropriated to graduate management in Medium and Small-sized Colleges and Universities.The system relies on campus network and Internet, Passing through the whole management of graduate, so that provides the open,convenience and exactness service for students and teachers, with these advantages, it can lightens the pressure of the educational administration management and offers effective information support for student of the school work.This paper works from the requirement analysis, the function and the performance request and uses the further investigating existing UML modeling method to analyse and design the system in detail. Meanwhile, in this system we apply modulizing programming method as design principle. On these bases, we determine to use the J2EE platform and B/S computing mode and choice the java programming language and SQL Server2000 database management system to implement the system, which includes 8 functional modules, such as recruit management, postgraduate cultivation and course selection management, graduation and degree management and student status management.In the stage of designing, in order to build platform of GIMS with B/S structure for redeveloping, the server-side and the client-side are further divided into layers, so that realizes good encapsulation, reduces the complex of system design and improves the maintenance performance of the system.In the stage of implementation, we adapt the AJAX and XML technology to improve the information system based on B/S architecture, optimizes the solutions of the data renewal of WEB page, the data uniqueness verification, the report form production and the continuously print of the report form.In the system secure aspect, we used the new generation of status authentication technology that based on the USB KEY numerical attestation,not only has guaranteed the system security,but also makes sure the operation cannot to be denied and the integrity of data.This system has been used in the graduate management of inner mogolia university of technology, has maken the graduate management to be standardization, information and digitization.
