Along with the rapid development of high-level vocational education, the demands for the practice teaching are becoming higher and higher. According to the status of the markets and the practical ability required by the enterprises for students who majored in communication technology, it is urgent and necessary to develop a new and effective experimental training system for the specialty of communication technology. For such a purpose, an experimental training system for the course of communication principles are designed in this thesis. The design is based on the idea of "Typical, Advanced, Applied, Convenient".The experimental system for the course of communication principles is designed in the modularized frame. It is composed of the analog signal module, the digital signal module, the sampling theorem module, the PCM coding and decoding module, the AM coding and decoding module, the FSK modulation and demodulation module, the PSK modulation and demodulation module, the HDB3 coding and decoding module, and the bit synchronization module, etc. It covers the main teaching contents of communication principles course. The design of each module is according to the following steps: theoretical analysis, scheme selection, parameters evaluation, circuit simulation, drawing figures for the principles and for the PCB, manufacturing circuit board, assembling and debugging, etc. The design includes hardware and software, following the principle of interference resistance.Practice testing and theoretical analysis show that the experimental system has some characteristics as below: the tested wave forms at key points are correct, the processes of signal processing are clear, the testing items are comprehensive; performances are stable and reliable, operation and use are convenient, each module can be combined freely, both unit and system experiments can be carried out on this system. The experimental system can not only satisfies the requirements of the course of the communication principles, but also satisfies the requirements of EDA and single chip computer, etc. It offers an open platform of hardware and software training, which is good for the training practical ability of students and is helpful for the improvement of the skill training for students in high vocational college.
