During the last few years, many new management ideas came out and every corporation expected responding to the market more rapidly. With the help of information technology, the staff can release from the complex work of the data processing and the leader can make decisions quickly.MES (Manufacturing Execution System) is a system that connecting the enterprise management system to the control system in the workshops. It makes a more particular plan for the workshops, and the plan describes when a part should be machining by which machine exactly. It is benefit for efficiency work. You can find some foreign software for special area in the market, most of them can only be implemented in big company, and they indeed help the companies to solve many problems. But if a company is not big enough, it can hardly afford the expensive software, in the other way, it is running a risk for a small company to implement so complex software, which may lead some bad results.In the paper, it expresses a simplified MES which is called Manufacturing Execution System Based on Group Technology. The data for processing is from MPS (Master Production schedule), and that makes the processing more simple. The functions offered can basically satisfy the users in company nowadays. In the system, the first step is coding for parts by using the JLBM-1 system, and then, grouping the parts according their group codes, at last we fix on producing routes for the parts and make a producing order. It combines SPT (Shortest Processing Time) and GA (Genetic Algorithm) for getting the result of the job shop schedule. With the help of special link lists, the algorithm is more efficient.The system is base on many specialty modules, and it is very convenience for adding more functions needed.
